Sergey Isayenko

 

Coach Sergey Isayenko -
Youth Olympic Head Coach for USA Team in Singapore 2010. Sergey led US Youth Team to Bronze Medal.

He has been fencing since 1989. Trained with a famous Ukrainian coach, Garik Davidyan, who helped him to become a national champion in 2002, a member of Cadet, Junior, and Senior National Sabre Team, and win two bronze medals at the Junior World championships in 2000 and 2001. Throughout his 1996-2002 national team career he competed in numerous senior World Cups, and European and World championships.

Sergey was offered a full scholarship to St. John’s University. He became a three-time First Team All-American, 2004 NCAA Champion runner-up, 2004 Ukrainian National Champion, and 2005 NCAA Champion. He finished his competitive career with an individual record of 78-3 and earning “NCAA’s Outstanding Fencer 2005” recognition.

Sergey earned his coaching degree at the National University of Physical Education and Sports in Kiev, Ukraine. He has an outstanding background as both a competitive fencer and a wonderful coach.
