Coaches and Facility


Our Facility
  • See our club featured on The New York Times video exclusive.
  • Centrally located in Midtown Manhattan on 39th Street between 7th and 8th Avenues; 
  • Close to Times Square, Grand Central Station, Penn Station, Path Trains, and Port Authority Bus Terminal; 
  • Located on the 2nd floor of a newly renovated, doorman building with secure lobby area and two elevators;
  • Specially designed fencing floors to safeguard knees and ankles; 
  • Air conditioned, equipped with 14 electric strips, targets, locker rooms and showers.
 
Programs are in sabre or foil for children, beginners, adults and elite fencers.


Our Coaches

Our coaches are all world-class instructors who have coached and/or fenced at Olympic and National levels. They are well-versed in the latest pedagogical techniques in the sport of fencing and most have a Masters in Physical Education. Classes and lessons are designed to accommodate students of different ages and skill levels.

Programs include: 
  • the Musketeer Club (ages 4-6);
  • youth classes (ages 7-13);
  • teen classes (ages 13-18);
  • adult group classes;
  • footwork and conditioning classes;
  • competition classes;
  • intermediate and elite classes;
  • summer and winter training camps;
  • international training camps;
  • and local tournaments.
We host exciting competitions, winter/summer camps, and invite members from the best national teams from all over the world. Under the supervision of our elite team of coaches, our club has helped place countless students into the best universities in the country--Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Georgetown, Penn State, St. John's, and Columbia University.

Slava Zingerman- Saber/Foil


Slava started fencing at age 10 in Ashkelon, Israel and has been a competitive fencer since 1994. He was 11 times Israel National Champion in all age categories-Cadet, Junior and Senior and was a member of Cadet, Junior and Senior Israeli National Team.

He took part in numerous National and International competitions including World Cups, European and World Championships and won many medals in Junior World Cups in addition to finishing third in the FIE World Cup ranking in 2003.

Zingerman was offered a full scholarship to Wayne State University in 2006 and became a three time NCAA Champion in 2007, 2008 and 2009. He graduated with an Electrical engineering degree in 2011.

Slava started his coaching career in fencing club Hapoal Ashkelon in 2004 where he was working until his departure to the United States in 2006. During his last year at WSU, Slava was offered a position as an assistant fencing coach for the WSU school team and will now be coaching at the MFC.
